Will there ever be power?!!

Well, where to start? First of all (today is Friday, Jan 30) and I haven't had electric since Tuesday at 2 pm (on the dot). I so would love a shower. The day of the cold sponge bath is old already. I was able to go to work today with mom so I could have power and internet connection to get some work done. I took advantage of a sink and washed my hair. I feel somewhat better. But you better bet as soon as the power is on I am going to take a long HOT bath!

Things have been real interesting this week. We received a beautiful ice storm, but I am ready for it to go. I have never seen this much ice in my lifetime; beautiful, but again I am ready for it to go and get back to civilization. I have been camping out at mom and dad's since I don't have any heat. You know what that means, frozen water pipes! Yucky! We'll have our work cut out for us to get things back in order as soon as there is power. Dad and I installed a small gas heater in my house last night in hopes that it will keep my house warm so there isn't any more damage. I am keeping my fingers crossed! I'm not really complaining about it all, but it just puts a halt in normal every day life. I guess though routines make us bored and such. This change in life style is definitely not normal and has certainly gotten me out of a daily routine. I assume that when things get back to normal this little episode of Mother Nature will make me appreciate normal life even more. Not that I don't appreciate the life I have been blessed with, but I certainly appreciate it even more now and know how even more blessed we all are.

Anyway, as I said (I think) I am trying to get some work done today since I haven't been able to be in the office since Monday. I also wanted to sure do a posting to input this little adventure life has tossed at me. Well, I better get back to it and try to get caught up. Stay dry and stay warm out there.

Until next time...

Blog in progress

I am going to begin a blog. It won't be daily, but it will be often enough to keep everyone up-to-date.

So, stay tuned in. Who knows where I'll be roving to next? Until next time....
